GAZA, February 16, 2018 (WAFA) – Several Palestinian protesters were injured by Israeli forces’ fire on Friday during clashes along Gaza-Israel border fence, according to local sources.
Israeli soldiers stationed along the borderline to the east of Khan Younes, in the southern Gaza Strip, opened live fire at Palestinians who were protesting against US President Donald Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
During the clashes, at least two protesters were injured with live shots, while many others suffocated after the soldiers used teargas to disperse them.
Meanwhile, clashes erupted with Israeli soldiers near Nahal Oz military outpost at Gaza-Israel border, east of Gaza city, during which the soldiers fired live bullets and teargas to disperse the protesters, injuring one of them and causing others to suffocate.
Two other protesters were also injured during similar clashes with Israeli forces near Beit Hanoun border crossing, north of the Strip, and another one was injured in concurrent clashes that erupted to the north of Beit Lahiya town in the northern Gaza Strip.
Clashes erupted in many areas of the occupied West Bank and at Gaza-Israel border following Friday prayers on the eleventh Friday of Rage against US President Donald Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
