Fatah‘s Al-Ahmed, Egyptian FM discuss Palestinian cause

 

CAIRO, February 11, 2018 (WAFA) - Member of the Central Committee of Fatah movement Azzam al-Ahmed briefed Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry Sunday on the latest political developments related to the Palestinian cause.

Al-Ahmed told WAFA after the meeting that was held in Cairo that they discussed recent developments related to the Palestinian cause, especially the Israeli escalations, continued settlement expansion in Jerusalem and legalizing settlement outposts in the West Bank.

"Ongoing arrests of Palestinians by Israeli troops, house demolitions and killings were also tackled," he said.

He added that Shoukry highlighted the moves adopted by President Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian leadership at the international level to counter the US decision on Jerusalem, which contradicts the resolutions of international community.

Al-Ahmed stressed the importance of the unity of the Arab stance in support of the Palestinian position.

He also discussed the Egyptian efforts to end the internal Palestinian division and restore national unity.
