Settlers graze cattle on Palestinian-owned land, damage crops

TUBAS, February 11, 2018 (WAFA) – Israeli settlers Sunday grazed their cattle on agricultural land owned by locals in al-Sakout area, in the northern Jordan Valley, damaging the crops, said a local activist.

Aref Daraghmeh, who monitors settlement activities in the Jordan Valley, said settlers allowed their cattle to graze on land planted by local families with chickpeas.

Meanwhile, a suspicious object which exploded in al-Sakout area injured a cow severally that its leg was amputated.

Israel runs training exercises on a regular basis in and around Palestinian communities in the Jordan Valley area.

It seeks to empty the Jordan Valley, which makes around 40% of the West Bank area, from its Palestinian inhabitants to take it over for the benefit of settlement expansion.
