TEL AVIV, February 10, 2018 (WAFA) – An Israeli fighter jet was shot down on Saturday by Syrian anti-aircraft fire, according to Israeli and Syrian reports.
Israel admitted that an F16 fighter jet that was involved in an air raid on Syria was shot down by Syrian artillery. It said its two pilots survived the crash and were safe. The jet apparently fell in Israel.
However, later Israeli reports said one of the pilots was in serious condition without giving any more details.
Israel announced that its air defenses have shot down what it claimed was an Iranian-run drone and that its jets have attacked the base from where the drone was launched.
Residents in the north and in the Syrian Golan Heights reported hearing explosions and sirens during the night.
