Death toll from Israeli massacre on Jabalia home rises to 14; over 50 remain trapped under rubble

GAZA, May 23, 2025 (WAFA) – The number of civilians killed late Thursday night in the Israeli massacre targeting the Dardouna family in the town of Jabalia in northern Gaza, has risen to 14, following the recovery of 10 more bodies, including three children, from under the rubble.

Additionally, eight other civilians were killed today in separate Israeli airstrikes across various areas of the Gaza Strip.

WAFA correspondent reported that rescue teams recovered today the bodies of 10 civilians, including three children, who were killed in the Israeli airstrike that targeted the Dardouna family home last night. The four-story building was housing members of the family and several displaced persons.

Four bodies were reportedly recovered immediately after the bombing of the Dardouna family home. More than 50 people remain trapped under rubble, as rescue teams face a total inability to reach them due to the absence of essential technical resources.

Three more civilians were killed and three others were injured after Israeli warplanes struck another home in the town of Jabalia.

In Khan Yunis in southern Gaza, two civilians were killed in an Israeli strike targeting the Qizan an Najjar neighborhood. Rescue teams were unable to recover their bodies.

A civilian was also killed in an Israeli airstrike targeting the Hassanein family home on Al-Nazzaz Street in Al-Shuja'iyya neighborhood, east of Gaza City. Another civilian was killed after Israeli warplanes shelled the Abu Awwad family home in Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza. Additionally, one more civilian was killed in Israeli air raids that targeted a group of civilians on a rooftop in the a-Sawarha area south of the camp.

According to the WAFA correspondent, the Israeli military also bombarded residential buildings east of Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza.

Medical sources confirmed that 33 civilians have been killed in Israeli airstrikes across the Gaza Strip since dawn today.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel has been waging a genocidal war against the Gaza Strip, resulting in the killing and wounding of over 175,000 civilians, mostly children and women.

More than 11,000 people remain missing. The relentless aggression has led to the displacement of hundreds of thousands.
