RAMALLAH, February 8, 2018 (WAFA) - PLO Executive Committee Member Hanan Ashrawi Thursday said Palestinians expect the British government to rectify the historical injustices of the past and undertake bold steps to end the military occupation

Ashrawi received British Consul General Philip Hall OBE at the PLO Headquarters in Ramallah and thanked the UK for voting in favor of the UNGA resolution rejecting US President Trump‘s decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel‘s capital, as well as its continued backing of the two-state solution.

She provided a thorough analysis of the critical conditions on the ground, in particular America’s detrimental moves towards Palestine and its unilateral actions, which have enabled Israel to persist with its flagrant violations and draconian measures against Palestinians.

Ashrawi said, “Such deliberate targeting of Palestine and the Palestinian people is counterproductive and dangerous.”

She stressed the importance of multilateral engagement and the imperative of all members of the international community to implement their own laws and legislation to ensure Israeli compliance with international law and consensus.
