RAMALLAH, February 3, 2018 (WAFA) – A Palestinian who was shot in the head and critically injured on Saturday during clashes with Israeli soldier south of Jenin, in the north of the West Bank, died of his wounds hours later, said the Ministry of Health.

The ministry identified the dead person as Ahmad Samir Abu Obeid, 19, from Jenin.

Palestinian reports said he was shot in clashes with Israeli soldiers in an area south of Jenin.

The Israeli army has raided several areas in the Jenin district all day on Saturday and searched several homes.

The soldiers, who are apparently searching for a Palestinian who allegedly attacked last month and killed an Israeli settler in a drive-by shooting in the north of the West Bank, also arrested a number of Palestinians.

The raids focused on the village of Burqin, south of Jenin, where residents clashed with the soldiers who fired live bullets and tear gas to disperse them.

The Red Crescent said it handled two injuries in the leg in Burqin from live bullets, six from rubber bullets and 12 people after inhaling tear gas.
