RAMALLAH, February 2, 2018 (WAFA) – Israeli forces quelled several protests that set off in many areas of the occupied West Bank and at Gaza border on the ninth Friday of Rage against US President Donald Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
In Jerusalem, Israeli police attacked a rally in the neighborhood of al-Issawiya following Friday prayers, injuring at least seven protesters with rubber-coated rounds. Other protesters, meanwhile, were hit and injured by shrapnel of teargas canisters.
In Ramallah district, clashes erupted when Israeli army quelled a protest in the village of Budrus. Army used stun grenades and teargas canisters to disperse the protesters, causing many cases of suffocation from teargas inhalation.
Clashes also erupted in the nearby village of Nabi Saleh, during which the soldiers used rubber-coated steel rounds and teargas canisters to disperse the protesters. There were multiple cases of suffocation as a result of teargas inhalation.
Similar clashes further erupted at the northern entrance to al-Bireh city near Ramallah when the Israeli army attacked protesters who were rallying in condemnation of Trump‘s decision.
In Qalqilia district, army cracked down on the weekly protest in the village of Kafr Qaddum against Israeli settlement construction. The soldiers used teargas canisters to disperse the protesters, causing many cases of suffocation from teargas inhalation.
In the meantime, clashes erupted when Israeli forces quelled several protests in condemnation of Trump’s decision on Jerusalem in many locations along Israel’s border with the Gaza Strip. The forces used teargas to disperse the protesters, causing many cases of suffocation.
Clashes also erupted in many areas and points of friction with the Israeli forces across the occupied West Bank following Friday prayers.
