Family of Palestinian attacker told its house will be demolished

JERUSALEM, October 3, 2017 (WAFA) – The Israeli military government Tuesday informed the family of Palestinian attacker Nimr al-Jamal that its Beit Sourik home will be demolished within 72 hours as a punishment for its son’s act, according to WAFA correspondent.

Jamal, 36 and a father of four children, last week shot and killed an Israeli border guard and two security men and critically injured a fourth at the entrance to the illegal Har Adar settlement located near his village northwest of Jerusalem before he was shot dead by other security men at the site.

Israeli forces raided the attacker’s hometown and handed his family a notice to evacuate its house in order to demolish it within 72 hours unless it appeals the order.

The army has imposed a strict siege on Beit Sourik and 11 other nearby Palestinian villages banning movement in and out of the villages in a policy of collective punishment.

In almost all similar cases were Palestinians attacked and killed Israelis for nationalist reasons, their family homes were demolished within a short time.

However, none of the Israelis who attacked and killed Palestinians also for nationalist reasons have had their homes demolished.
