RAMALLAH, September 14, 2017 (WAFA) – The decision announced by President Mahmoud Abbas to send a Fatah delegation to Cairo to discuss Egypt’s efforts to reconcile the Palestinians was the focus of the three Palestinian Arabic dailies published on Thursday.
The meeting of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization was also highlighted on the front page of the dailies.
In other news, the Israeli demolition of homes near Jericho and in Jerusalem’s Ras el-Amoud neighborhood was also highlighted in the dailies.
The Israeli burying of four Palestinians recently killed by Israeli forces in numbered cemeteries as well as the High Court postponing a ruling on a petition to release remains of the four and others withheld in Israeli morgues was featured on the front page of the three dailies.
Al-Ayyam said the High Court also cancelled an Israeli Interior Ministry decision stripping three Palestinian lawmakers and a former minister of their residency right in East Jerusalem, but postponed implementing this decision by six months.
The paper said a 15-year-old Palestinian boy was shot by Israelis in Hebron after allegedly attempting to attack them with a knife.
It said that a Hamas-run court in Gaza sentenced in absentia a journalist to six months in prison and a fine after she had published a report on manipulation by health officials in Gaza of medical transferals.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida said the Palestinian Investment Fund allocated $50 million for solar energy projects.
It quoted Fatah Central Committee member Naser al-Qudwa saying there is no legitimacy for Israel without a Palestinian state.
Al-Quds said the US and Israel exerted pressure on the World Tourism Organization to postpone a vote on Palestine’s membership.
