RAMALLAH, September 13, 2017 (WAFA) – A man wanted on criminal and drug-related charges was shot dead on Wednesday and another one injured during a pursuit by the security forces in Yatta, to the south of Hebron in the West Bank, according to Adnan Damiri, spokesman of the Palestinian security forces.
He told WAFA that the security forces received a tip regarding the whereabouts of Abdul-Jalil Haroush, 34, who was sentenced in absentia by a Palestinian court on criminal grounds. When they attempted to arrest him, he opened fire at the security forces injuring one officer and was therefore shot dead.
Another wanted person identified as Fawzi Abu Tabikh, who was with Haroush in the same car, was critically injured in the exchange of gunfire, said Damiri.
The incident is under investigation, he said.
