TEXAS, September 11, 2017 (WAFA) - Chief Representative of the Palestinian General Delegation to the United States Ambassador Husam Zomlot visited on Sunday members of the Palestinian community in Texas to check on their condition after their state was hard hit by Hurricane Harvey.
Texas, which has the largest Palestinian diaspora community, was battered by Hurricane Harvey causing loss of life and damage in the billions of dollars.
One Palestinian expatriate from the Shakaa family, which comes from the West Bank city of Nablus, was killed in the floods that hit Houston, the largest city, along with more than 70 other people killed throughout the state.
Zomlot, who was accompanied by Hanna Hanania, head of the American Federation of Ramallah, an organization of American Palestinians originally from the West Bank city of Ramallah, promised to provide the Palestinian-American community in Texas with whatever assistance possible, financial or logistic, to help them overcome their losses caused by the hurricane.
