Increase in the construction, road and water cost indices in July

 

RAMALLAH, August 24, 2017 (WAFA) – Construction, road, water and sewage indices increased in the West Bank during July compared with the previous month, the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) said on Thursday.

Construction Cost Index (CCI) for residential buildings increased by 0.26% due to the increase in rental of equipment by 0.67% and prices of raw materials by 0.39%. At the same time, labor wages remained stable during July compared with the previous month.

The CCI for non-residential buildings also increased by 0.17% in the West Bank during July due to the increase in rental of equipment by 0.65% and prices of raw materials by 0.24%. Labor wages remained stable during July when compared with the previous month.

CCI for skeleton buildings increased as well by 0.28% in the West Bank during July due to increase in rental of equipment by 0.43% and prices of raw materials by 0.40%. Labor wages remained stable.

The overall Road Cost Index (RCI) slightly increased by 0.05% in the West Bank during July due to the increase in rental of equipment by 0.49%. However, operating costs of equipment and maintenance decreased by 1.50% and prices of raw materials slightly decreased by 0.02%. Labor wages remained stable.

The overall Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) increased by 0.15%, Water Reservoirs Cost Index also increased by 0.30%, and Water Networks Cost Index increased by 0.09% during July compared with the previous month.

The overall Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) increased by 0.03%.
