NEW DELHI, May 16, 2017 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas Tuesday met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his office in Hyderabad and discussed the latest political developments.
Abbas briefed Modi on the situation regarding the Palestinian question, including efforts to move the peace process forward and the situation of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails on hunger strike for 30 days.
Abbas and Modi also discussed efforts to promote economic ties between their countries, particularly in the field of religious tourism, and stressed efforts to combat terrorism and achieve a just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East.
Abbas arrived in India on Sunday for a four-day visit.
