Israeli forces detain 13 Palestinians in West Bank, Jerusalem raids

HEBRON, May 16, 2017 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Tuesday detained at least 12 Palestinians in multiple overnight raids across the West Bank and one in East Jerusalem, said Palestinian security sources and activists.

Israeli forces detained a Palestinian after storming his home in Dura town, southwest of Hebron, in the southern West Bank.

They also conducted similar raids into Yatta and Beit Ummar towns, south and north of Hebron.

Ratib al-Jabour, coordinator of a local committee that resists settlement activity, said troops ransacked several homes and detained a Palestinian woman during the raid into Yatta.

Muhammad Awad, a local activist, told WAFA troops detained two Palestinians, summoned another and wreaked havoc into a number of homes during the raid into Beit Ummar.

In Bethlehem, troops conducted a raid into Aida refugee camp, north of the city, where they detained a Palestinian.

Another Palestinian was detained during a raid that sparked clashes in Deheisheh refugee camp, south of Bethlehem.

Meanwhile, two Palestinians, including an undergraduate university student, were detained during a predawn raid into Tel village, south of Nablus.

Elsewhere in the northern West Bank, troops raided Azzun town, east of Qalqiliya, detaining four Palestinians, including a 15-year-old minor.

Meanwhile, Israeli police detained a Palestinian resident of Silwan in East Jerusalem after raiding his family home.
