RAMALLAH, May 13, 2017 (WAFA) - Voter turnout in the local council elections in the West Bank exceeded 24 per cent by 1:00 pm, the Central Elections Commission said on Saturday.
Voter turnout was only 8.3 per cent by 10 am, three hours after the start of voting for 145 local councils.
Polling stations said turnout has picked up since the morning and reached 24.3 per cent of the total eligible registered voters who number 787,386.
More people are expected to vote before the polls close at 7:00 pm.
