CAIRO, May 7, 2017 (WAFA) – Egyptian authorities have decided to extend the opening of Rafah border crossing, on Egypt border with the besieged Gaza Strip, until Tuesday to allow entry and exit of humanitarian cases, the Palestinian embassy in Cairo said.
Egypt had earlier announced the opening of the Rafah border crossing from May 6 to 8 to allow entry of Palestinians to Gaza.
The Rafah border crossing is the only gate for entry and exit of the Palestinian people of the Gaza Strip. It was shut down by Egypt in 2006 and has since been opened for only certain periods (mostly three-day periods) at times.
