JERUSALEM, May 2, 2017 (WAFA) – Israeli security forces shot and killed a Jewish Israeli at a Jerusalem checkpoint thinking he was Palestinian.

Initial police reports said a “Palestinian” came running at a checkpoint point to the east of Jerusalem in an attempt to stab security forces but was immediately shot and killed without harming any of the security personnel.

However, moments later, the police amended its report and said that investigation showed that the dead man turned out to be a 19-year-old Jewish Israeli from Pisgat Zeev settlement bordering the checkpoint.

Police was investigating the incident.
