Foreign Ministry condemns army killing of Palestinian south of Bethlehem

RAMALLAH, April 20, 2017 (WAFA) - The Palestinian Foreign Ministry has condemned in a statement on Thursday the army killing of Sohaib Mashahreh, 21, describing him as “a victim of the Israeli army’s death game they play against Palestinians.”

Mashahreh was shot dead on Wednesday evening after he allegedly rammed his car into Israeli settlers on a road south of Bethlehem.

The Foreign Ministry said every day Palestinians are killed in the occupied territories under the  pretexts of attacking Israelis even though footage from the scene indicated that it could have been a road accident.

It said the Israeli government gave the green light to soldiers to shoot to kill Palestinians without hesitation, making any Palestinian a possible victim of this loose Israeli open-fire policy.

It called for an international protection for the Palestinian people against what it said was Israeli occupation’s oppression and disregard to human life.
