JERUSALEM, April 20, 2017 (WAFA) – Israeli forces raided early Thursday several homes in the village of al-Sawahreh, southeast of Jerusalem, including the family home of 21-year-old Sohaib Mashahreh who was shot and killed by Israeli soldiers on Wednesday evening after he allegedly carried out a run-over attack south of Bethlehem, according to witnesses.
They told WAFA that Israeli troops raided the village and searched several homes, including the Mashahreh residence, and seized cars in what residents said was collective punishment step.
Mashahreh allegedly attempted to ram his car into Israeli settlers on a road between Bethlehem and Hebron. He was shot and killed in the process. No Israeli was hurt in the alleged attack, which Palestinians said should have been treated as a normal road accident.
Army units had raided Mashahreh home shortly after the incident and arrested his father and two brothers.
