RAMALLAH, April 14, 2017 (WAFA) – The three Palestinian Arabic dailies Friday focused on the continued Israeli fanatics provocative marches carried out in occupied Jerusalem and their escalated tours at the Muslim holy place of al-Aqsa mosque and attempts to offer sacrifices on the compound for the Jewish holiday of Passover.
Al-Ayyam daily said hundreds of Jewish fanatics continued their provocative tours inside al-Aqsa mosque compound for the third consecutive day to celebrate the holiday of Passover.
It reported on the Muslim Waqf (endowment) department as stating that Israeli police, in an unprecedented move, allowed Jewish fanatics to turn the Umayyad palaces, near Al-Aqsa Mosque, into annexes of the alleged Temple. Al-Hayyat al-Jadida said Israeli occupation [forces] turned Jerusalem into a military barrack. Al-Quds covered the same issue.
Al-Hayyat al-Jadida said Jordan condemned the Israeli fanatics break-ins into al-Aqsa mosque compound.
Al-Ayyam said six Palestinian students were injured, and dozens others suffocated [after inhaling tear gas fired by Israeli forces] during clashes that erupted in the vicinity of al-Quds university, in the town of Abu Dis to the southeast of occupied Jerusalem. Al-Quds and al-Hayat al-Jadida covered the same issue.
Al-Quds daily reported on China’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Wang Yi, as stating that the fact that Palestinians still do not have a sovereign state is a "terrible injustice" that can‘t continue. Al-Hayyat Jadida said in this regard that Wang Yi called to correct the hysterical injustice of depriving Palestinians from establishing their own independent state.
Al-Quds quoted the Israeli daily, Haartez, as stating that Israeli police in West Bank close cases of offenses against Palestinians without investigating.
Al-Hayyat al-Jadida reported on the Israeli human rights group, Yeshi Din, as accusing Israeli police of failing to enforce laws against Israeli settlers who commit ideological and nationalist crimes against Palestinians.
Al-Ayyam quoted the Energy Authority in Gaza as warning that Gaza’s sole power plant will shut down on Sunday after funds from Qatari donations to cover fuel costs ran out.
Regionally, al-Ayyam and al-Hayat al-Jadida said the U.S. has dropped the ‘mother of all bombs’ on ISIS militants in Afghanistan, targeting a system of tunnels and caves used by the latter.
