As tension rises in Jerusalem, Israeli police bars 7 more Palestinians from Al-Aqsa

JERUSAELM, April 13, 2017 (WAFA) – Israeli police Thursday barred seven more Palestinians, including two brothers, from Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Old City of Jerusalem as tension rises in the occupied city, according to WAFA correspondent.

He said police ordered Basel Zughayar not to enter Al-Aqsa Mosque, a Muslim holy place, for one month and placed him under house arrest for one week, while his brother, Mohammad, was barred from entering the Mosque compound and the Old City of Jerusalem for six months.

More than 40 Palestinians have so far been  barred by police from reaching Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Old City for a period ranging from 15 days to six months at a moment Jewish extremists have been allowed in it freely.

Some of these people barred from the Old City actually live there and therefore are left with no place to go to.

The tension increased this week with calls by Jewish extremists, who celebrate their Passover holiday, to escalate provocative visits to Al-Aqsa Mosque, which they actively seek to turn into a Jewish worship site in the future.
