RAMALLAH, April 13, 2017 (WAFA) - The overall consumer price index (CPI) for Palestine increased in March by 1.08% compared with February, the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) said on Thursday.
CPI increased by 2.33% in Gaza Strip and by 0.22% in the West Bank, while it decreased by 0.70% in Jerusalem.
When compared to March of last year, CPI increased by 1.65%. It increased by 2.39% in Jerusalem, by 2.03% in Gaza Strip, and by 1.64% in the West Bank.
CPI increased during the first quarter of 2017 by 0.67% compared with the same period of the previous year. It increased by 3.20% in Jerusalem, by 0.96% in the West Bank, and by 0.20% in Gaza Strip.
The changes in March CPI when compared to the previous month are traced back to changes in prices of the following expenditure sub groups compared with previous month:
