Five Birzeit University students grabbed during protest outside an Israeli army camp

RAMALLAH, February 28, 2017 (WAFA) – Israeli soldiers Tuesday apprehend five Birzeit University students, including two women, during protests outside the Israeli Ofer military camp and prison bordering Ramallah, according to student sources.

They said the university’s Shabiba, the Fatah student group, called for the protest in solidarity with Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails.

The Israeli army stationed at the camp attacked the protesters and arrested the five students, said the sources.

Meanwhile and in a separate incident, Israeli soldiers detained two minors from Beit Ummar, north of Hebron, according to a local activist.

The activist, Mohammad Awad, told WAFA that an army force raided the town and arrested the two minors aged 14 and 16 years and took them to Kiryat Arba settlement in Hebron.

No reason was given for the arrest.
