JERUSALEM, July 26, 2016 (WAFA) – Israeli forces on Tuesday demolished 11 homes in the town of al-Issawiya, northeast of Jerusalem, under the pretext of construction without permission, according to local sources.
Mohammad Abul-Hummus, a local activist, told WAFA that an Israeli police escort broke into the town at predawn, where they demolished a house which is under construction, a car repair workshop, and two retaining walls belonging to Mustafa and Bouja families.
Earlier the day, the occupation authorities demolished 11 homes in the town of Qalandia, north of Jerusalem, under the pretext of construction without permission.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the recent Israeli excessive home demolitions in Jerusalem, saying the demolitions aim to empty Jerusalem of its original Palestinian residents.
It said such demolitions undermine any chance of peace and the opportunity of an independent state of Palestine, with Jerusalem as its capital.
