GENEVA, July 27, 2025 (WAFA) – The World Health Organization (WHO) confirmed that malnutrition rates in Gaza have reached alarming levels.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the organization added that malnutrition is on a dangerous trajectory in Gaza, evident in the sharp rise in deaths this month.
It added that most of the malnutrition deaths occurred before or shortly after arrival at hospitals, and the bodies were extremely emaciated.
The WHO confirmed that the deliberate blockade of Gaza and the delay in aid have caused many deaths, noting that nearly one in five children under the age of five in Gaza City suffers from severe malnutrition.
