RAMALLAH, July 25, 2016 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) released its External Trade in Goods report on Monday for May 2016, saying exports increased by 4.4% compared to April 2016.
PCBS said that exports decreased in May 2016 by 1.8% compared to May 2015 and reached $83.5 Million.
Exports to Israel increased in May 2015 by 3.5% compared to April 2016, and represented 87.9% of total exports for May 2016.
On the other hand, exports to other countries also increased by 11.2% during the same period.
Meanwhile, the report said that imports increased in May 2016 by 21.5% compared to April 2016.
Imports from Israel increased by 12.7% in May 2016 compared to April 2016, and represented 50.6% of total imports in May 2016.
Imports from other countries also increased by 31.9% in May 2016 compared to the previous month.
The trade balance, which represents the difference between exports and imports, showed an increase in trade deficit by 25.7% in May 2016 compared to the previous month, reaching $408.6 million.
