JERUSALEM, August 19, 2026 (WAFA) — Israeli occupation forces detained Palestinian Minister of Jerusalem Affairs Ashraf al-Awar on Wednesday morning after raiding his home in the occupied Jerusalem neighborhood of Silwan.
The detention came despite a previous Israeli order barring al-Awar from entering the occupied West Bank, as part of ongoing restrictions and measures imposed by Israeli authorities on Palestinian officials in occupied Jerusalem.
