BETHLEHEM, August 17, 2026 (WAFA) —  Israeli forces conducted a raid this evening on the premises of the Bethlehem Arab Society for Rehabilitation Hospital, inciting panic among patients and visitors and physically assaulting individuals within the facility's courtyard, according to local sources.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health vehemently condemned the occupation forces' raid on the premises of the Arab Society for Rehabilitation Hospital, denouncing the persistent violations against the sanctity of hospitals and medical centers.

In an official statement issued today, the Ministry affirmed that hospitals and healthcare facilities are strictly protected under international law.

The statement emphasized that any raid, assault, or action endangering patients and medical personnel constitutes a grave breach of international conventions and laws, directly compromising the integrity of health services and violating patients' fundamental right to receive care in a safe environment.

The Ministry of Health reiterated its urgent appeal to international health and humanitarian organizations, specifically the World Health Organization and the International Committee of the Red Cross, to fulfill their mandates and intervene immediately to halt these recurring violations against hospitals, medical facilities, and healthcare personnel, thereby ensuring the preservation of their sanctity and safeguarding the lives of both patients and staff.
