RAMALLAH, June 27, 2026 (WAFA) – Several Palestinians suffered from suffocation after Israeli occupation forces fired tear gas canisters into a home in the village of al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah, on Saturday evening.
Head of the al-Mughayyir Village Council, Amin Abu Alia, told WAFA that Israeli forces fired tear gas canisters into a home near the village's eastern entrance, causing six Palestinians, including an elderly man with a heart condition, to suffer from suffocation.
He added that the tear gas canisters also sparked a fire at the entrance to the house. Civil Defense crews extinguished the blaze, brought it under control, evacuated the injured from the home, and transferred them for medical treatment.
In the same context, Abu Alia said the occupation forces stole sums of money from several Palestinians after subjecting them to thorough searches while they were passing through a military checkpoint set up at the village's western entrance.
Earlier on Saturday evening, several Palestinians also suffered from suffocation after inhaling tear gas fired by occupation forces during their raid on al-Mughayyir.
The occupation forces also detained a Palestinian at the village's western entrance and assaulted him. They also detained a child during the raid before later releasing both.
The village of al-Mughayyir, along with neighboring villages and towns, has been subjected to repeated raids by Israeli occupation forces, alongside ongoing attacks by colonists targeting Palestinians and their property.
