JERUSALEM, June 19, 2026 (WAFA) – Over 60,000 worshippers performed Friday prayers at Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa Mosque compound despite Israeli occupation restrictions, according to the Islamic Waqf Department.
It reported that more than 60,000 worshippers attended Friday prayers at the holy site, as tens of thousands of Palestinians made their way to the mosque compound despite tightened Israeli restrictions at the mosque’s gates and throughout the vicinity of Jerusalem’s Old City.
The Israeli occupation authorities have prevented Palestinians from the West Bank and Gaza Strip from reaching Al-Aqsa Mosque to perform prayers for the past three years.
