RAMALLAH, June 12, 2026 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates on Friday condemned the decision by Israeli authorities to deny entry to French journalist Alice Froussard, a correspondent for Radio France Internationale, and deport her from the occupied Palestinian territory, preventing her from carrying out her journalistic work.
In a statement, the ministry expressed its full solidarity with Froussard and other journalists and media institutions that have been targeted, describing the measure as a blatant violation of press freedom and an attempt to conceal ongoing violations.
The ministry said the decision contravenes international law and relevant United Nations resolutions related to freedom of the media and access to information.
It called on the international community, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), and other relevant organizations and institutions, particularly those concerned with press freedom and the protection of journalists, to adopt firm positions against such policies.
The ministry also urged the international community to take practical measures to ensure compliance with legal obligations regarding media freedom, guarantee journalists access to the occupied Palestinian territory, protect media institutions, provide safeguards for journalists, and hold those responsible for violations against media workers accountable.
