JERUSALEM, June 2, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation authorities renewed the administrative detention of Jerusalem Waqf employees Mahdi Abisan (al-Abbasi) and Abdul Rahman al-Sharif for an additional four months, despite the nearing end of their initial detention period, according to the Jerusalem Governorate.
The governorate explained that the occupation authorities had detained Abisan and Sharif last February, before placing them under administrative detention for four months.
It added that they were scheduled to be released today upon the expiration of their initial detention period, but the occupation authorities issued an order just hours before their scheduled release, renewing their administrative detention for an additional four months.
