Israeli authorities demolish three homes in village in Galilee

GALILEE, June 2, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli authorities demolished three homes in the village of Kabul in the Galilee region early Tuesday, citing construction without permits.

Local sources reported that Israeli bulldozers and engineering vehicles, accompanied by large numbers of police officers and Border Police personnel, entered the village and carried out the demolition of the three homes.

The demolitions come only months after a commercial store in the village was demolished in February under the same pretext of unlicensed construction, as part of a policy frequently implemented in Arab communities within Israel's 1948 boundaries.

Home demolitions remain one of the most pressing issues facing Arab citizens in Israel amid an ongoing planning and housing crisis marked by limited building zones and delays in approving master plans. These restrictions significantly limit urban expansion and make obtaining building permits extremely difficult.

Urban planning experts and local authorities say demolition policies are accompanied by planning restrictions that constrain the natural growth of Arab towns, forcing many residents to build to meet housing needs before facing demolition orders and legal proceedings.
