GAZA, May 31, 2026 (WAFA) – Palestinian citizen Saeed Fayez Shamali died on Sunday from wounds sustained in an earlier Israeli strike near Feras Market in central Gaza City.
Medical sources said Shamali had been injured in a previous attack targeting the area and was later pronounced dead as a result of his wounds.
Meanwhile, medical sources in the Gaza Strip reported that 929 Palestinians have been killed since the ceasefire agreement announced on October 10, 2025, came into effect. The sources said the death toll includes 247 children and 191 women.
They added that April was the deadliest month since the start of the truce, with approximately 117 fatalities recorded, compared with 79 in March. The pace of attacks and the number of casualties continued to rise throughout May.
Health authorities also warned that the healthcare sector is facing catastrophic conditions due to the ongoing blockade and restrictions on the entry of medicines and medical supplies.
