HEBRON, May 6, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces issued stop-work orders on Wednesday for two Palestinian houses in the village of Deirat, east of Yatta, south of Hebron, and uprooted hundreds of grapevines in the Al-Buq'a area, east of Hebron.
Osama Makhameh, an activist against settlement expansion, told WAFA that Israeli forces raided the village and delivered stop-work orders to brothers Bakr and Hussein Mahmoud Al-Adra for their houses in Deirat, east of Yatta.
Bakr's house is 250 square meters and houses seven people, is about 120 square meters and houses ten people; both have been inhabited for around ten years.
In a separate incident, colonists also attacked Mu'ath Mahmoud Al-Hamamdeh with stones and clubs in the village of Al-Mufaqara in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, and attempted to steal his livestock, but he resisted and prevented them from doing so.
In the same context, Israeli forces have continued for several days to uproot hundreds of grapevines from Palestinian-owned land in the Al-Buq'a area, east of Hebron, using heavy machinery to expand the so-called “Route 60” settlement road. The land belongs to several families, including Jaber, Al-Tarwa, and Al-Ashhab.
