Israeli forces tighten restrictions around Qalqilya, hinder movement of Palestinians

QALQILYA, April 15, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces intensified military measures around Qalqilya on Wednesday morning, severally impeding the movement of residents.

Eyewitnesses told WAFA that Israeli troops set up a military checkpoint at the southern entrance to Qalqilya, preventing residents from entering or leaving the city. The eastern entrance was also closed to outgoing traffic via an iron gate, while a checkpoint was established to inspect those entering, causing a severe traffic jam.

In a related incident, occupation forces raided the Al-Hasamis agricultural area east of the city, disrupting farmers' work by stopping and interrogating them.

Occupation vehicles also patrolled the town of Azzun and the village of Asla, east of Qalqilya, and deployed along the Qalqilya-Nablus road, however, no arrests were reported.
