RAMALLAH, February 17, 2026 (WAFA) — Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa met on Tuesday in Ramallah with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Director Alexander de Croo to discuss the latest updates on relief and recovery efforts in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including Jerusalem.
The meeting focused on joint coordination and prioritizing resources to maximize available support amid ongoing humanitarian challenges facing Palestinians in Gaza. The session was attended by Public Works and Housing Minister Ahed Bseiso and Finance and Planning Minister Estephan Salameh.
Prime Minister Mustafa emphasized the priority of rubble removal, temporary shelter provision, and continued relief efforts, alongside development programs in the West Bank, including reconstruction of areas in the West Bank damaged during Israeli attacks.
He reaffirmed that Gaza remains an integral part of the State of Palestine under one system of authority, law, and governance, and that the government continues to provide essential services, including health, education, and water.
Mustafa also stressed the importance of partnership with UN institutions, including UNDP, in supporting recovery, development, and institutional reform.
De Croo presented findings from his field visit to Gaza, noting the region's significant needs and urging expansion of UN agency operations, including relief efforts, humanitarian aid, rubble removal, temporary shelter, and medical equipment provision.
