RAMALLAH, January 28, 2026 (WAFA) – Vice President and Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), Hussein al-Sheikh, received a delegation from the Samaritan community, headed by priest Husni Wasif, representative of the Samaritan High Priest, and the director of the Samaritan Museum, along with several priests and community figures.
The meeting, which was also attended by Ramallah and al-Bireh Governor Laila Ghannam, focused on ways to strengthen the values of coexistence and preserve the diverse religious, cultural, and historical fabric of Palestinian society.
During the meeting, al-Sheikh emphasized that the Palestinian people, in all their diversity, represent a model of fraternity and mutual respect. He stressed the importance of protecting the religious and cultural heritage of the Samaritan community, considering it an integral part of the Palestinian cultural heritage deeply rooted in this land.
The Samaritan delegation discussed the community's situation and needs, expressing their appreciation for the Palestinian leadership's ongoing attention to the affairs of various segments of society, which strengthens the resilience of the Palestinian people and preserves their religious and cultural identity.
