JERUSALEM, December 23, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces continued their aggression against the Qalandiya refugee camp and the town of Kafr Aqab, north of occupied Jerusalem, since noon on Tuesday.
The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said its crews treated three injuries, including one from live fire to the thigh, another caused by live-fire shrapnel, and a third sustained as a result of assault and beating.
For its part, the Jerusalem Governorate reported that at least three residents were injured by Israeli forces’ live fire, in addition to dozens of suffocation cases resulting from the firing of tear gas canisters and sound bombs, and the detention of several residents during a wide-scale incursion carried out by the occupation forces in Kafr Aqab and Qalandiya camp.
The incursion was accompanied by heavy military deployment and extensive raids on homes and commercial shops.
The governorate added that the occupation forces detained several residents, and assaulted others who were briefly held.
In a related context, Israeli forces stormed several residential buildings at the entrance of Qalandiya camp and took over their rooftops, amid a large-scale deployment of soldiers in the area. They also forced residents, through the use of force, to evacuate three apartments inside a residential building opposite the main mosque of Qalandiya camp.
The occupation forces converted one of the evacuated apartments into a military outpost after forcibly expelling its residents, and announced their intention to continue using it until 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
The incursion involved Israeli army forces, police, border guard, the tax authority, and staff from the occupation municipality, accompanied by a large number of vehicles, including bulldozers, cranes, and clamp trucks.

The forces also raided dozens of commercial shops and seized clothing bearing international brands, as well as quantities of eggs and meat under the pretext of lacking licenses. They also confiscated cartons of cigarettes allegedly for unpaid taxes, valued at tens of thousands of shekels.
The Jerusalem Governorate said the occupation forces seized the contents of an agricultural nursery opposite the camp, obstructed the work of ambulance crews, and assaulted journalists while they were covering the events. It also documented the direct firing of sound bombs at school students while they were returning home, in addition to the confiscation of private surveillance cameras.
In a later development, Israeli occupation forces began demolition operations along the main road extending from the Qalandiya military checkpoint to the town of Kafr Aqab, and attacked residents’ vehicles, smashing some and seizing others, amid widespread concern over a possible expansion of the demolitions.
The occupation forces also removed advertising billboards from the middle of the main road and from in front of commercial shops, demolished a shop selling birds, and destroyed a memorial structure during the ongoing incursion.
Israeli forces closed the Qalandiya military checkpoint, leaving hundreds of residents traveling to or from occupied Jerusalem stranded.
