Israeli forces continue large-scale assault on Tubas for second day, enforces full siege across the governorate

TUBAS, November 27, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli forces continue their large-scale military aggression on Tubas Governorate, in the northern occupied West Bank, for the second consecutive day, imposing a full siege and severely restricting movement across the governorate.

Since early Wednesday, Israeli forces have carried out sweeping incursions, resulting so far in the arrest of more than 100 Palestinians and the injury of at least 25 others due to severe beatings and physical assaults.

Nidal Odeh, Director of the Palestinian Red Crescent in Tubas, confirmed that medical teams treated at least 25 individuals who were assaulted during the ongoing incursion, including detainees who were interrogated and beaten by Israeli soldiers before being released.

Kamal Bani Odeh, Director of the Palestinian Prisoners Society in Tubas, reported that the forces continue storming homes across the governorate, detaining Palestinians and transferring them to field interrogation centers.

He further emphasized that more than 100 Palestinians have been detained—half of them from the town of Tammun. Twenty-seven detainees were released late last night, some of whom remained shackled until reaching their homes.

Meanwhile, Israeli soldiers also detained an injured Palestinian from inside an ambulance at the entrance to Tammun while medics were transporting him to hospital.

The Israeli occupying forces have forcibly evacuated several buildings in Tubas, ‘Aqaba, Tammun, and Tayasir, converting them into military points. Troops carried out extensive vandalism inside multiple homes and damaged water supply lines in several locations.

Commercial life has come to a complete halt. All shops have been forced to close except for a limited number of bakeries operating to meet basic needs, despite the risk of being forcibly shut down. Only two pharmacies remain open to provide essential medications, even as Israeli checkpoints inside the city severely restrict movement and soldiers assault anyone attempting to pass.

The Directorate of Education in Tubas announced yesterday the suspension of all public schools and kindergartens to ensure the safety of students and staff. This morning, Israeli forces stormed a school in Tammun and destroyed its main gate.

Tubas and Northern Jordan Valley Governor Ahmad al-As’ad also announced the suspension of work in all public and private institutions, noting that the occupation seeks—through this military operation, which is expected to continue for days—to cut off the governorate’s areas from one another and paralyze the movement of the Palestinian people.

Meanwhile, Israeli forces have tightened their military measures at the Tayasir military checkpoint—closed for an extended period—preventing many farmers from accessing their agricultural lands. This has left farmers unable to tend to their crops, threatening their livelihoods and deepening the humanitarian and economic crisis in the governorate.

Tubas has been witnessing a large-scale and escalating Israeli military aggression for over 48 straight hours, involving heavy troop reinforcements, bulldozers, and military machinery. At the outset of the incursion, Israeli helicopters flew low over the governorate and fired multiple rounds indiscriminately into the air.
