TULKARM, November 23, 2025 (WAFA) – A Palestinian child was injured on Sunday after being struck in the head by a sound bomb fired directly by Israeli forces near Nur Shams refugee camp, east of Tulkarm, as occupation forces suppressed a sit-in by displaced camp residents, leaving dozens suffering from tear gas suffocation.
The Palestine Red Crescent Society said its crews dealt with the injury of a nine-year-old girl who was hit in the head by a sound bomb in Nur Shams camp during confrontations with Israeli forces.
Dozens of displaced people from Nur Shams camp, along with several foreign solidarity activists, held a sit-in in the Jabal al-Nasr area adjacent to the camp. They chanted national slogans affirming residents’ right to return to their homes, from which they were forcibly displaced due to the ongoing Israeli aggression.
The area witnessed an intensification of the occupation forces’ military presence, with troops heavily deployed throughout the vicinity. Forces positioned themselves on the rooftops of homes they had taken over, as surveillance and reconnaissance drones hovered over the camp. Occupation forces later fired tear gas canisters at the sit-in participants to disperse them, leading to numerous suffocation cases, particularly among children.
Israeli occupation forces continue their aggression on Nur Shams refugee camp for the 288th consecutive day, resulting in the forced displacement of residents, widespread demolition of homes, and near-complete destruction of infrastructure. The aggression on Tulkarm city and its refugee camp has also continued for the 301st consecutive day.
