TUBAS, November 23, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces on Sunday prevented educational staff from reaching schools in the northern Jordan Valley by blocking passage through the Tayasir checkpoint, east of Tubas, north of the West Bank.

Azmi Balawna, Director of Education in Tubas, said that around 109 teachers and administrators were denied access to their workplaces in northern Jordan Valley schools. He added that staff were forced to return after 10 a.m. when they were unable to cross the checkpoint.

The occupation forces periodically close the checkpoint, disrupting movement and preventing residents from reaching their jobs in the northern Jordan Valley.
