BETHLEHEM, November 17, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists on Monday evening torched several homes and vehicles in Al-Jaba’ village, southwest of the occupied West Bank city of Bethlehem, in the latest attack amid a wave of escalating violence against Palestinians, according to a local official.
Head of Al-Jaba’ Council, Dhyab Masha‘la, said that colonists set fire to three inhabited homes, three vehicles, and a shack in the village, causing extensive material damage.
He added that the villagers managed to put out the fire, and no one was injured.
Earlier this evening, colonists set fire to a home and two vehicles, and physically assaulted several civilians in Sa'ir town, northeast of Hebron.
According to the statistics of the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission, the occupation forces and colonists carried out 2,350 attacks against Palestinian civilians in October 2025; 1,584 attacks carried out by the occupation forces and 766 others by colonists.
Geographically-disaggregated data shows that Ramallah and al-Bireh governorate was the most affected by such attacks, suffering 542 attacks. It was followed by Nablus governorate (412 attacks), and Hebron governorate (401 attacks). Such attacks included direct physical assault, tree uprooting, torching fields, denying farmers access to their olive groves, takeover of property, and demolition of homes and agricultural structures.
Colonists’ violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.
Colonists’ violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes, among others.
Approximately 1 million Israeli colonists are living in colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem in violation of international law.
