RAMALLAH, August 11, 2026 (WAFA) — Israeli forces delivered demolition notices on Tuesday for the Khirbet al-Daba'a school and several homes and farms in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron.
Activist Jaber Dababseh said that Israeli forces delivered notices ordering the demolition of the Khirbet al-Daba'a school, which serves 12 elementary school students.
Troops also issued demolition notices for several homes made of brick and sheet metal belonging to Salah Ali Dababsa, Mahmoud Dababsa, Ragheb Dababsa, Mohammad Ali Dababsa and Abdullah Mahmoud Dababsa.
Three eviction and demolition notices were also delivered for a farm owned by the brothers Suleiman, Jaber, and Amer Ali Dababseh.
Masafer Yatta and its surrounding areas have been subjected to a widespread campaign of demolitions and demolition notices, aimed at pressuring residents and forcibly displacing them from their land.
The Ministry of Education and Higher Education stated that this move comes within a context of ongoing targeting of Palestinian schools. Khirbet al-Daba' School is the third school to receive a demolition notice in a single month, reflecting a dangerous escalation in the targeting of educational institutions, particularly in communities in Masafer Yatta and elsewhere.
It called upon the international community, UN agencies, and human rights organizations to uphold their responsibilities to protect educational institutions, students, and teachers, and to exert pressure to halt the targeting of Palestinian schools, thereby guaranteeing children's right to education in accordance with relevant international conventions and agreements.
