ANKARA, August 11, 2026 (WAFA) — President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas arrived in the Turkish capital Ankara on Tuesday afternoon for a two-day official visit.
President Abbas was received at the airport by Turkish Trade Minister Ömer Bolat and Palestinian Ambassador to Turkey Nasri Abu Jaish.
During the visit, President Abbas is scheduled to meet with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan as part of regular political consultations between the two leaders and the two countries. The talks are expected to address developments in Palestine and the region, as well as ways to strengthen the longstanding ties between Palestine and Türkiye.
The President is accompanied by a senior delegation that includes Executive Committee member Ziad Abu Amr; Fatah Central Committee member and head of the General Intelligence Service, Maj. Gen. Majed Faraj; Presidential Diplomatic Affairs Adviser Majdi al-Khaldi; and Chief Justice of Palestine Mahmoud al-Habbash.
