During the meeting held on Thursday, the Executive Committee expressed its welcome of the agreement's outcomes, foremost among them the cessation of the ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza, which has lasted for two years and resulted in the killing and injury of tens of thousands of peopel, most of them children, women, and the elderly.
The committee expressed its appreciation for the efforts made by President Trump, along with the mediators from the Arab Republic of Egypt, the State of Qatar, and the Republic of Turkey. It stressed the importance of expediting the implementation of all provisions and phases of the agreement, especially the full commitment to the ceasefire, the withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from all areas of the Gaza Strip, and the immediate flow of humanitarian aid to stop the famine caused by the aggression.
The committee confirmed that the Palestinian National Authority and its government have completed the necessary preparations to address the devastating effects of the war, starting with rubble removal, relief for those affected, and the prompt organization of an international conference to rebuild the Gaza Strip in coordination with the Arab Republic of Egypt.
It also welcomed Egypt’s invitation to launch an inclusive Palestinian national dialogue among all Palestinian factions, emphasizing the importance of this step and the need for swift implementation to reinforce the unity of the Palestinian land and people in the occupied State of Palestine, including the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip. The committee said this would pave the way toward the implementation of relevant international resolutions, particularly the two-state solution.
The committee also reviewed efforts made by the Palestinian government to address the severe financial crisis faced by the Palestinian Authority, caused by the continued Israeli piracy of clearance revenues. It discussed ongoing preparations to assume responsibility for managing Gaza’s affairs and maintaining security starting from the day after the occupation forces’ withdrawal.
