RAMALLAH, July 16, 2026 (WAFA) – President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas today extended his condolences to Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune over the victims of a fire that broke out at an orphanage in the town of Mohammadia, east of the Algerian capital, Algiers, resulting in dozens of casualties, including children.

In his telegram, President Abbas expressed his sincere condolences and sympathy to Tebboune and the Algerian people, affirming Palestine's solidarity with Algeria during this tragic incident.

The President wished mercy for the victims, a speedy recovery for the injured, and safety and security for Algeria and its people.
