PM Mustafa meets Arab ambassadors in Azerbaijan to discuss support for Palestine

BAKU, July 17, 2026 (WAFA) -- Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa met with Arab ambassadors accredited to Azerbaijan on Friday in Baku as part of efforts to strengthen coordination and mobilize support for the Palestinian cause.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Ambassador Omar Awadallah and Palestinian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Ahmed Metani.

Mustafa briefed the ambassadors on the humanitarian and security situation in Palestine, highlighting the ongoing Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip, the continued closure of Gaza's crossings, restrictions on the entry of reconstruction and recovery supplies, ongoing violations and attacks by Israeli colonists in the occupied West Bank, including Jerusalem, and the continued withholding of Palestinian tax revenues.

He stressed the need to intensify joint Arab diplomatic efforts to pressure for an end to the Israeli offensive and to ensure protection for the Palestinian people.

The Prime Minister also updated the ambassadors on his recent meetings with Azerbaijani officials, which focused on strengthening bilateral relations and Azerbaijan's continued support for Palestinian rights.

Mustafa further reviewed the outcomes of his recent participation in meetings held in Brussels on the sidelines of the Palestine Donor Conference, where he discussed ways to enhance international economic and financial support to help the Palestinian people and institutions withstand the current financial crisis.

The Arab ambassadors reaffirmed their countries' support for the Palestinian people and stressed the importance of continued coordination and unified positions in regional and international forums in support of the Palestinian cause.
