GENEVA, February 28, 2025 (WAFA) – Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammad Mustafa held a wide-ranging consultative meeting via video conference today, with the participation of Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Varsen Aghabekian, several Palestinian ambassadors in Europe, and the Foreign Minister's Chief of Staff, Ambassador Ahmad Al-Dik.
During the meeting, Mustafa reviewed the latest developments in Palestinian government efforts with Arab and European partners. He stressed the importance of ongoing Palestinian diplomatic efforts to strengthen the national position, especially in light of preparations for the upcoming Arab Summit on March 4, which is expected to produce significant outcomes with a direct impact on the Palestinian cause.
The Prime Minister also addressed the need for intensified diplomatic efforts to address current political challenges. He emphasized the importance of collaborative actions to stop the ongoing aggression and ensure the international community remains committed to supporting the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) as the legitimate and sole representative of the Palestinian people.
Additionally, Mustafa discussed the Palestinian government's preparations for a reconstruction plan and ongoing field efforts to provide aid to the Palestinian people, particularly in the Gaza Strip and northern West Bank.
Following the Prime Minister's address, Aghabekian chaired the session, where ambassadors discussed strategies for strengthening Palestinian diplomacy and improving coordination to confront current challenges. The meeting provided a crucial platform for examining the Palestinian diplomatic approach on the international stage, particularly in light of regional and global developments.
Discussions focused on the necessity of initiating a comprehensive national dialogue among Palestinian factions to unify political stances, especially given the ongoing challenges facing the Palestinian people and their national cause.
Ambassadors also briefed the meeting on recent developments and positions taken by host countries, especially in relation to current issues, including the ongoing Israeli genocide, displacement, and annexation efforts targeting Palestinians. They discussed the best approaches and mechanisms to strengthen the stance of these countries in support of Palestinian rights and interests.
In closing, Minister Aghabekian reiterated the need to intensify diplomatic efforts to ensure the achievement of national goals effectively and efficiently. She emphasized that the current phase requires a unified diplomatic effort to address the growing challenges facing the Palestinian cause.
